Manchester United have recently announced the signing of Donny van de Beek but it looks like that will not be the only move they make as they are now linked with Thiago Almada.
It will not be easy to acquire Almada, however, as fellow Premier League sides Manchester City and Leeds United are also monitoring the situation. None of the three clubs have made an offer as of yet.
The 19-year-old Argentine prospects currently plays in his home nation for Club Atlético Vélez Sarsfield, per Transfermarkt, and he has made 46 appearances and scored nine goals whilst setting up another four in his senior career so far.

This is a decent tally for someone so young and he is clearly seen as a player of the future for Argentina as he has made seven appearances for the under-20 side and scored once, per Transfermarkt.
If the Red Devils want the player, he could be seen as a useful addition to the squad rather than an instant addition to the starting XI as United currently have Mason Greenwood, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford up front, who managed 62 goals between them in all competitions last season, so it would take something special to displace one of them in the near future.
The main issue could be struggling to outbid Man City to acquire the player, but if he is just seen as a squad player for the Old Trafford club, then losing out on him would not seem too disastrous and, even though it would seem a nice transfer, it wouldn’t be a major loss if they were to miss out on his signing.
