Manchester United: Fans slate ‘atrocious’ Paul Pogba display in Tottenham thrashing - Manchester United News

A number of Manchester United fans have slated the performance of Paul Pogba during the Red Devils’ 1-6 humbling against Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford this afternoon.

The defeat continued United’s dreadful start to the campaign and also saw them ship some soft goals after conceding three against Crystal Palace and a further two at Brighton and Hove Albion in their opening two Premier League matches.

Ole Gunnar Solskjær decided to stick with the midfield three of Pogba, Bruno Fernandes and Nemanja Matic, which meant that summer signing Donny van de Beek was again left on the bench at the start of the game. The performance of the trio especially in the first half did little to reward their manager’s faith.

Pogba in particular endured a very poor afternoon, losing the ball 21 times during the match, committing four fouls and coming out second best in 50% of his ground duels (via Sofascore).

Which player made the most appearances for Ferguson?

The France international’s day was summed up by him clumsily giving away the penalty which led to Tottenham’s sixth goal of the game after he brought down the overlapping Ben Davies inside the penalty area.

Some Manchester United fans have questioned whether he should keep his place in the side after this display, while others were suggesting that he is rated far too highly for the consistency of performances that he delivers for the Red Devils. Check out a flavour of the reaction from the Old Trafford faithful below:
