Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford is being monitored by Premier League rivals Arsenal, Football Insider report.

The Lowdown: Rashford under Ten Hag

Rashford has enjoyed a solid start to the season under Erik ten Hag, with Gary Neville hailing the forward as a ‘completely different’ player under the Dutchman.

The 24-year-old has scored three times and provided two assists in seven Premier League games, with three of his goal contributions coming in a 3-1 win over the Gunners last month.

Rashford’s Old Trafford contract is set to expire at the end of the season, although the Red Devils have an option to extend his stay by a further 12 months.

The Latest: Arsenal interest

FI provided an update regarding Rashford on Wednesday lunchtime. They revealed that Arsenal are keeping close tabs on the forward with United yet to extend the player’s deal.

The report adds that the door could be open for a ‘potential box-office capture’, with United valuing Rashford around £50m.

The Gunners have of course already pulled off something similar this past summer, luring Gabriel Jesus to north London from Manchester City.

The Verdict: Contract extension?

Ten Hag recently hailed Rashford for his ‘really good’ pre-season, and with United’s limited options in attack, surely the club will decide to keep the forward until 2024 at the very least.

The England international has been used as a centre-forward despite primarily being a left-winger, with Anthony Martial previously injured and Cristiano Ronaldo out of favour.

It looks as if Ronaldo could be on the move in the New Year, possibly making it even more important for Rashford to remain at Old Trafford instead of moving to the Emirates.
