Manchester United: Fans fume following latest report over transfer dealings

A number of Manchester United fans have been left aggravated after reports emerged that the Red Devils did not manage to get a single one of Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s main transfer targets this summer.
United had been heavily linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund forward Jadon Sancho, with the Red Devils having had an offer as high as £91.3 million rejected by the German club. The England international was being valued at £108 million and a deadline of August 10 was put in place to complete any potential deal, as per Sky Sports.
It has now emerged that Solskjær had also identified Aston Villa playmaker Jack Grealish and a commanding centre-back. The two main central defensive targets were RB Leipzig’s Dayot Upamecano and Nathan Ake, who eventually went on to join Manchester City in a £40 million move from Bournemouth. United, therefore, missed out on all four of their main targets, as per ESPN.
Manchester United did eventually add to their squad in the shape of Donny van de Beek, Edinson Cavani, Alex Telles, Amad Traore and Facundo Pellistri. Solskjær was consulted about all of those additions and did offer his backing to the club bringing them in, say ESPN.
The Red Devils have encountered similar issues in the past though with both Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho growing frustrated over their business. Some United fans have pointed out that this is just a continuous cycle of frustration, while others suggested it could spell the beginning of the end for Solskjær and one supporter called it an ‘absolute disgrace’.

I’m passed the angry stage. I was angry in 2013 when we spent all summer targeting world class targets to scramble an overpriced Fellaini over the line on the last day. 7 years of ineptitude from the same board means this has just become the norm. I’m not surprised anymore

This shows what the club is about as the same happened to Jose. The owners and board back the manager in year 1. The manager has a list of players for year 2. The board and owners pretend to go after these targets only to come up with excuses as to why they can’t get them …….

And now he’s probably gonna end up with the sack because of it, the cycle continues…

Solskjaer has got an impossible job, so would any other manager. I hoped OGS's project was backed by the board/owners, now I'm not so convinced anymore. Makes it easier for OGS to quit

Absolute disgrace
