Plenty of Manchester United fans have been reacting to an injury update on Alex Telles ahead of their game versus Aston Villa in the Premier League.
Speaking to the media in his press conference before the game, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed that the former FC Porto ace is “fine” despite being the subject of a quite heavy challenge in midweek and as a consequence, being replaced at half time by Luke Shaw.
Should Telles start for Manchester United?
The update has stirred up a mass debate as to who should start against Dean Smith’s team at left-back, with some Red Devils happier than others to see that the Brazil international is fit enough to play in the match if and when needed.
The 28-year-old has averaged more interceptions, clearances, shots, passes, crosses, long balls and through balls per appearance than Shaw so far in the top flight in the 2020/21 term, although the England international has averaged more tackles, blocks, key passes and dribbles (Whoscored).
Manchester United fan reaction to Telles news
These supporters seemed split on Twitter over who should start against AVFC, with one fan labelling the update on Telles as ‘amazing’:
“Best news ever”
“Good to hear, but VDB should have came on for 20 mins”
“Telles is a back-up for Shaw”
“I agreed with it tbh rn I prefer Shaw just cause of that defensive aspect I’m ngl , but Telles will show how good he is soon”
“Tbf, he done a job on Adama so I can’t complain, will be interested to see who he picks against Villa.”
