Manchester United: Fans slam Juan Mata versus Watford

Manchester United: Fans slam Juan Mata versus Watford - Manchester United News

Some Manchester United fans have been left slamming the display of Juan Mata despite their side’s 1-0 win over Watford in the FA Cup last night.

Although Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team did end up progressing through into the next round of the competition thanks to a very early header from Scott McTominay, the performance of attacking midfielder Mata flattered to deceive some members of the Old Trafford faithful.

The 32 year-old lost out on 60% of his duels in the game, and also failed to make a single successful dribble or accurate cross (Sofascore).

He also lost possession of the ball no fewer than eight times in the match, earning him a quite measly 6.8 overall rating on Sofascore, the joint-lowest out of any of his teammates to have started for the Red Devils.

Manchester United fan reaction to his display

These MUFC supporters slammed his performance on Twitter, with one fan even going as far to say as the Spanish veteran was ‘useless’:

“Mata looks past it and not surprised considering he barely plays. Let him go back to Spain. (3/4)”
