Manchester United transfer target Martin Dubravka has now ‘told’ the club that he wants to join this summer, according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.

The Lowdown: Personal terms agreed

The Newcastle goalkeeper has fallen out of favour under Eddie Howe following the arrival of Nick Pope, and as a result he has been made aware that he is free to leave St James’ Park in the final week of the transfer window.

Recent reports have suggested that the 33-year-old has already agreed personal terms with the Premier League giants, and it appears that he has made known his desire to come to Old Trafford.

The Latest: Dubravka wants Man United move

Taking to Twitter, Sheth confirmed that Dubravka has told his club that he wants to complete a move to Manchester, with the two parties currently in ongoing negotiations.

He wrote: “Newcastle keeper Martin Dubravka had told club he wants to leave & join Manchester United. Clubs in talks - Manchester United want loan with option of permanent depending on appearances. Newcastle want permanent deal - or at the very least loan with obligation to buy.”

The Verdict: Competition for De Gea

Whilst the Slovakia international won’t be United’s number one, he will be able to provide some serious competition for David De Gea between the sticks.

The 33-year-old has plenty of experience at this level, having made 127 appearances in the Premier League, keeping 37 clean sheets in the process (Transfermarkt).

Ajax winger Antony has made his feelings clear regarding a potential move to the Red Devils, going on strike to try and force through a transfer  to United, and it sounds like Dubravka will be the next in line to take action in an attempt to prompt a move to Erik ten Hag’s side.
