Manchester United may be launching a €30m (£26m) bid for Inter Milan full-back Denzel Dumfries.

The Lowdown: Malacia move

The Red Devils finally appear to be making transfer breakthroughs for Erik ten Hag ahead of his first season in charge. The club have reportedly agreed deals in principle for priority target Frenkie de Jong and Feyenoord left-back Tyrell Malacia.

Malacia was set to join Lyon, however, United appear to have hijacked a move for the left-back, and it looks as if the opposite flank is now up next on Ten Hag’s radar.

The Latest: Dumfries offer?

Sports Witness relayed an update from Milan-based outlet L’Interista regarding Dumfries on Monday.

They claimed that the right wing back has been targeted by Premier League clubs and ‘one of these, presumably Manchester United, is ready to offer €30m for his transfer’.

The report calls a move 'one to keep an eye on' because the Red Devils are plotting a 'mini revolution'.

The Verdict: Wan-Bissaka replacement?

United have Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka as senior options at right-back, with the latter of the two not thought to be in Ten Hag’s plans. Should the Red Devils find Wan-Bissaka a new club, Dumfries could prove to be a replacement and potentially become the third Dutchman to move to Manchester under Ten Hag.

The Netherlands international has been labelled as a 'difference maker' by Eurosport journalist Siavoush Fallahi and appears to be at the peak of his powers at the age of 26 and a career-high £22.5m Transfermarkt valuation.

He would also be able to provide cover at centre-back and as a right-midfielder if required, and with Fabrizio Romano claiming Dumfries is a player who Ten Hag knows ‘so well’, it could be one worth tracking.
