Manchester United will 'probably' complete the signing of Ajax forward Antony in the summer transfer window, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

Deadline day is steadily approaching all the time, with the Red Devils still in need of some attacking reinforcements after the recent addition of Casemiro.

Antony has arguably been linked with a move to United more than anyone over the course of this summer, as Erik ten Hag looks to bring in his former star from Ajax.

Now, one well informed onlooker claims the Brazilian could indeed be on his way to Old Trafford.

The Latest: Expert makes key claim

Speaking to Give Me Sport, Jones claimed that Antony will 'probably' trade Ajax for United in the next six days:

"The player wants to test himself; he trusts (Erik) Ten Hag that he is a good fit for what he’s trying to build. And so, I think when you take that all into account, it probably will happen."

The Verdict: Looks increasingly likely

With each new report that comes along, the more it looks as though Antony will be a United player once the transfer window closes, in what would be an exciting piece of business.

The 22-year-old has shone out wide for Ajax, registering 12 goal contributions (eight goals and four assists) in 21 Eredivisie starts last season, as well as chipping in with two and four in the Champions League, respectively.

He has been described as 'wonderful' by Dutch scout Piet de Visser in the past, which further outlines his quality.

Antony would give United the extra attacking spark they are missing in the final third, providing strong competition for the likes of Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho, and further lessening the need to rely too heavily on Cristiano Ronaldo.
