Journalist Samuel Luckhurst has described Casemiro as 'immense' after his hugely influential performance in Manchester United's 1-1 draw away to Chelsea.

The Lowdown: United draw at Chelsea

The Red Devils made the trip to Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening, in what was an important game in the Premier League top-four battle.

When Jorginho scored a late penalty, it looked as though United were going to suffer a damaging defeat, only for Casemiro to head home in the dying seconds.

The Brazilian's impact was great aside from the goal, as he made five tackles and three clearances, respectively, and won 10 out of 13 duels in total.

The Latest: Luckhurst lauds' immense' Casemiro

Taking to Twitter after the game, Luckhurst hailed Casemiro in one fitting word:

"Casemiro immense."

The Verdict: Made a huge difference

United were absolutely desperate for a top-class defensive midfielder in the summer and Casemiro is already showing what a fabulous footballer he is, in that respect.

He has brought huge experience, quality and intelligence to Erik ten Hag's side and his equaliser at Chelsea summed up a winning mentality that has seen him win the Champions League on five occasions.

At 30, Casemiro should still have a few years left in him at the very top level and he is the type of signing who could prove to be a revelation over time, if he isn't already.
