Manchester United will 'go all out' to acquire the services of a big-name striker during the summer transfer window, according to an exciting new update.

The Lowdown: United lacking a top striker

The Red Devils have enjoyed a largely excellent first season under Erik ten Hag, winning the EFL Cup and still pushing for glory in the Europa League and FA Cup.

United have top-quality players all over the pitch, whether it be Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes or Raphael Varane, among others, but they are lacking an elite striker to front that impressive new spine.

Wout Weghorst is a limited player who is yet to score in seven Premier League appearances, while Anthony Martial's injury problems continue to hold him back.

The Latest: Key update emerges

According to Football Insider, a new striker is United's 'top priority' once the summer window arrives, following 'talks' between Ten Hag and the Glazers.

Cristiano Ronaldo's departure has only heightened the need for a centre forward to come in and they will 'go all out' for one at the end of the season.

The Verdict: Kane or Osimhen?

At this point, it looks as though Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen are the front-runners to be United's star striker signing, following recent reports regarding the pair.

Either of them would be a potentially game-changing addition to Ten Hag's attack and he must do all he can to bring one of them in during the summer.

In Kane, United would be signing one of the greatest Premier League strikers ever - someone who has scored a record-breaking 268 goals in 423 appearances for Tottenham - and he could be the perfect foil for Rashford and Antony either side of him.

He does turn 30 this summer, however, which is where 24-year-old Osimhen has the edge, with the Napoli star scoring 19 goals in Serie A this season and being compared to Didier Drogba by Jose Mourinho.
