Manchester United have been linked with a cut-price move for Borussia Dortmund forward Youssoufa Moukoko.

The Lowdown: Moukoko profiled

Moukoko, just 17 years of age, has been on the books with Dortmund since 2016 and can play as a centre-forward or second striker.

The left-footed youngster has scored goals for fun at club level in recent years, netting 149 times in 136 games – seven of which have come on the first-team stage.

Indeed, Moukoko appears to have an extremely high ceiling, even breaking a record by becoming the Bundesliga's youngest ever goal scorer in 2020/2021 - which may be a sure sign of things to come.

Moukoko averages a goal every 58 minutes and is out of contract next summer, and it looks as if United are keen on his services.

The Latest: United interest

Spanish outlet El Desmarque relayed an update regarding Moukoko, claiming that the race to secure his services has already begun.

They stated that United, along with Bayern Munich, PSG and Real Madrid are all keen on his services.

The report adds that Moukoko could leave for a 'bargain price' in January.

The Verdict: January agreement?

Moukoko appears to be a star of the future and is already valued at £13.5m by Transfermarkt. Therefore, it could be wise for United to look to secure an agreement during the January window instead of waiting until the summer.

Cross-border rules mean that United, PSG and Madrid can all speak with Moukoko in the New Year ahead of a pre-contract agreement, should his situation remain the same.

That could be an extremely wise move, and if United officials can land the forward, they may see it as a huge coup in the long run.
