Manchester United have reportedly approached Everton over a possible summer move for Richarlison.

The Lowdown: Goodison Park defeat

The Red Devils travelled to Merseyside to face Richarlison and his Everton teammates on Saturday lunchtime, looking to keep their push for a top-four finish alive.

However, Ralf Rangnick’s side slumped to a 1-0 defeat at Goodison Park, with Richarlison playing his part in Anthony Gordon’s winner.

Attention now seems to be on a summer shake-up at Old Trafford, with Erik ten Hag looking like the man to come in, and he could be joined by Richarlison, going off recent reports.

The Latest: United’s approach

According to Sports Witness, both Manchester United and Real Madrid have approached the Toffees over a move for the 24-year-old.

Those reports were relayed by Sky Sports News on Twitter, labelling it as a ‘shock approach’ to their eight million followers.

The Verdict: Will Ten Hag want him?

Ten Hag wants to be 100% involved when it comes to all things transfer related, should he make the move to Old Trafford.

Therefore, there is no need for United officials to make any more checks on the Everton man until Ten Hag, or whoever the next manager is, either arrives in Manchester or gives his blessing from afar.

A new boss may be open to the idea of bringing the Toffees forward to the club, however, all the club’s focus at this moment in time should be on finalising a managerial appointment.
