Manchester United: Gravenberch could be Bellingham alternative

Manchester United could target Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch as a Jude Bellingham alternative this summer, should they be snubbed by the Borussia Dortmund ace.
The Lowdown: Bellingham targeted
Bellingham is the subject of interest from a plethora of big clubs from across Europe, with The Guardian stating that Real Madrid, Liverpool, Chelsea and pretty much every other top side will be out to get him in the summer.
The same report details that the 19-year-old is expected to express his desire to leave Dortmund at the end of the season, and with interest so high, Man United are said to be considering other options.
The Latest: Gravenberch instead?
According to a report from The Mirror, United retain a strong interest in Bellingham, but they recognise that he could snub them in favour of a move elsewhere.
As such, the Red Devils could turn their attentions to Gravenberch instead, another talented young midfielder currently plying his trade in the Bundesliga.
The Verdict: Viable alternative?
The Amsterdam-born maestro has found it difficult to hold down a regular place in the Bayern starting XI this season, making the vast majority of his 12 appearances as a substitute, but he is still only 20, and it should be no real surprise he’s finding it tough to dislodge the likes of Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka.
Football scout Jacek Kulig has tipped the starlet to go on to great things, lauding him as a ‘top talent’, with a ‘huge future ahead‘, and this potential was on show during his time with Ajax, emerging as a vital player by making at least 30 league appearances in the two seasons prior to his departure.
Gravenberch is not as influential as Bellingham in the attacking third, ranking far lower for non-penalty goals and assists per 90 over the past year, but he still ranks in the 87th percentile for shot-creating actions compared to other midfielders.
As such, the Dutchman could be a very good option for Erik ten Hag, should United not be able to land the Dortmund midfielder.
