Manchester United are 'ready to move' for PSV Eindhoven forward Cody Gakpo, according to Sky Sports.

The Lowdown: Gakpo profiled

Gakpo is 23 years of age who can play anywhere across the front three but is primarily a left-winger. The Dutch international is valued at a career-high £27m by Transfermarkt and has scored 45 goals in 138 games for his current employers.

Called a 'sensational player' by football-oranje.com editor and Dutch football expert Michael Bell, Gakpo started the new season in fine form with Adrien Rabiot.

The Latest: United interest

Sky Sports provided more transfer news for Manchester United supporters on Tuesday evening, after they revealed the Rabiot deal earlier in the week.

They revealed that ‘Man United are ready to move’ for Gakpo, who is apparently valued at £35m by PSV and is well known to Erik ten Hag as they share the same representation agency.

The Verdict: Get it done

United pulled the plug on a move for Marko Arnautovic, and Gakpo appears to be a smarter attacking target.

Not only is Gakpo younger, but he is also versatile and has just come off his 15 assists last season.

Ten Hag is more than likely looking at the long-term plan as well as the present, and a move for Gakpo now could be extremely beneficial in years to come.
