Manchester United: United fans urge Red Devils to cash in on Eric Bailly after latest injury setback

Manchester United: United fans urge Red Devils to cash in on Eric Bailly after latest injury setback - Manchester United News

A number of Manchester United fans have been urging the club to consider selling defender Eric Bailly after it was revealed that he has suffered another injury setback.

Bailly did not travel with the United squad for their Champions League group stage opener against PSG, with Axel Tuanzebe shining at the heart of their defence in the 2-1 win in his absence. Ole Gunnar Solskjær confirmed after the game that Bailly missed out due to a muscle injury.

The United manager also confirmed that the defender’s injury is set to keep him out of action for around four weeks. That would see the Ivory Coast international miss out on the Red Devils’ matches against Chelsea, RB Leipzig, Arsenal, Istanbul Basaksehir and Everton.

Which player made the most appearances for Ferguson?

The 26-year-old, whose current deal, worth £80,000-a-week (Spotrac), still has another two years left to run, has endured multiple injury issues throughout his time at Old Trafford. That has prevented him from securing a place in the side alongside Harry Maguire. The defender has only made more than 20 league appearances in a season once since arriving at the club (Sofascore).

Some United fans have now seen enough and are urging the club to cash in on him at some point in the next two transfer windows. While others were keen to point out he has shown some quality during his time at the club, but bemoaned his lack of reliability.
