Atletico Madrid wantaway Joao Felix is now eyeing a move to Manchester United, according to journalist Jacque Talbot.

The Lowdown: Felix set for Atletico exit?

The Portugal international star, who impressed with some brilliant performances at this year's 2022 World Cup in Qatar, may well be on the way out of Atletico.

His relationship with manager Diego Simeone has broken down and the La Liga side's CEO Gil Marin has stated that a January move away is now possible.

This has apparently put the likes of United, Arsenal and Chelsea on 'red alert' as Felix's club set an £86 million price tag.

As Erik ten Hag looks out for a possible Cristiano Ronaldo replacement, it appears the £241,000-per-week attacker could be a candidate.

The Latest: Felix eyeing Man United move...

According to journalist Talbot, Man United is actually Felix's 'preferred option' for a transfer as he potentially eyes coming in for his departed Portuguese international teammate Ronaldo.

It is also believed that Newcastle, Bayern Munich and Paris-Saint Germain are the other main contenders to sign the 23-year-old.

The reporter goes on to write for Football Transfers that PSG are currently his likeliest destination even if Felix himself is holding out for a Premier League move to Old Trafford.

The Verdict: Get it done?

Called 'insane' by members of the media for his Portugal performances in Qatar, there is little doubting the forward can add real quality to ten Hag's ranks.

Having moved to the Wanda Metripolitano for a marquee £113 million fee, he will cost United a pretty penny, but to replace a figure like Ronaldo you must be prepared to make an ambitious move.
