# Manchester United: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s jibe towards Tranmere keeper Scott Davies has fans baffled

**Responding to quotes from [the Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7931873/Ole-Gunnar-Solskjaer-Tranmere-goalkeeper-Scott-Davies-Thanks-firing-players.html), Manchester United fans have been in uproar after manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s post-match FA Cup jibe aimed at Tranmere Rovers keeper Scott Davies following their [6-0 win](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51208521) at Prenton Park.**

Davies, who revealed [to the Telegraph](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2020/01/25/tranmere-captain-scott-davies-facing-manchester-united-have/) that he was a boyhood Manchester City fan and hinted at his desire to cause an upset before the encounter, ended up being on the receiving end of a 6-0 drubbing. Goals from Harry Maguire, Jesse Lingard, Anthony Martial, Phil Jones, Diogo Dalot and Mason Greenwood sealed a routine win for the Red Devils who take on their cross-town rivals on Wednesday in the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg.

With that in mind, after the match, Solskjaer told [the Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7931873/Ole-Gunnar-Solskjaer-Tranmere-goalkeeper-Scott-Davies-Thanks-firing-players.html) that the keeper’s pre-match interviews surrounding his City heritage ‘[fired up the players’](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7931873/Ole-Gunnar-Solskjaer-Tranmere-goalkeeper-Scott-Davies-Thanks-firing-players.html) – perhaps taking a jibe at the 32-year-old shot-stopper.

In response, supporters weren’t all that impressed with the Norwegian rubbing salt in the wound – find all of their best comments from Twitter down below.
