# Manchester United: Paul Pogba speculation surrounding Juventus return warrants criticism from supporters

**According to a report by [Calciomercato.com](https://www.calciomercato.com/news/la-scelta-della-juve-sul-mercato-cosi-a-giugno-e-previsto-un-alt-40440), Juventus are monitoring the Paul Pogba situation as rumours over his future at Old Trafford heighten – with some Manchester United supporters slamming the player and hoping he moves on in the summer.**

Pogba, who re-signed for a then-world record £93.2 million fee [back in 2016](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/aug/09/manchester-united-sign-paul-pogba-93-million-juventus), has since gone on to amass 150 appearances for the Red Devils overall whilst notching 31 goals and 31 assists from midfield ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/paul-pogba/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/122153)). Despite having his crucial spells of form, most notably last season where he scored 13 goals and assisted nine others ([WhoScored.com](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/97752/History/Paul-Pogba)), rumours surrounding his future at Old Trafford have heightened recently – with a report from the [Manchester Evening News](https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/man-utd-transfers-paul-pogba-17641772) stating that he told his teammates he ‘[wants to leave](https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/man-utd-transfers-paul-pogba-17641772)‘.

In Pogba’s absence due to an [ankle](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/jan/03/paul-pogba-manchester-united-ankle-injury-surgery) injury, the midfield partnership of Fred and Scott McTominay [briefly shined](https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/man-utd-news-fred-mctominay-17482831) before the latter also picked up a knock – but the January addition of [Bruno Fernandes](https://www.manutd.com/en/news/detail/man-utd-complete-the-signing-of-bruno-fernandes-from-sporting) has added some much-needed midfield reinforcement. As a result, some United supporters don’t feel the need to keep him around, with one fan calling him ‘[a waste of space](https://twitter.com/Robbie_Rice/status/1225771152787808256?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw)‘ – here’s what they had to say on Twitter.

> No Point in Paying a player that has sat out the majority of the season and continually sparks drama. [@ManUtd](https://twitter.com/ManUtd?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) has done okay without him. McSauce , Fred and Bruno gonna be Colossal. Juve can have him for 150 million pounds.
