# Manchester United: Paul Scholes worships Bruno Fernandes after 5-0 Brugge hammering to the delight of fans

**Speaking to [BT Sport via blame FOOTBALL](https://www.blamefootball.com/2020/02/28/paul-scholes-i-like-everything-about-bruno-fernandes-so-far/), Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has waxed lyrical over [£47 million](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51292312) January signing Bruno Fernandes after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men brushed aside the Belgian outfit on Thursday.**

A brace from Fred, alongside strikes courtesy of Scott McTominay, Odion Ighalo and Bruno Fernandes, sealed a brilliant Europa League second-leg victory at Old Trafford – resulting in United sailing through to the Last 16 in style with a 5-0 win. Fernandes, who joined the club from Sporting Lisbon in January, displayed a particularly noteworthy performance – opening the scoring with a penalty and having [three shots](https://www.sofascore.com/manchester-united-club-brugge/KsNhb) on target before coming off midway through the second half.

The Portuguese playmaker also registered an [8.3 SofaScore rating](https://www.sofascore.com/manchester-united-club-brugge/KsNhb), with only man of the match Fred scoring higher. Reacting to his performance, Scholes lauded the ‘[sensational](https://www.blamefootball.com/2020/02/28/paul-scholes-i-like-everything-about-bruno-fernandes-so-far/)‘ signing – all the while wondering why nobody else opted to bid for the 25-year-old.

As a result of Scholes’ verdict, many United fans were in full praise – find all of their best comments down below.

> Paul Scholes: “What do I like about Bruno? Everything so far. Creativity. His awareness on the pitch. Before the ball comes to him he knows what’s around him. He’s sensational — you just wonder why nobody else came in for him or why we didn’t get him in the summer.” [#mulive](https://twitter.com/hashtag/mulive?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) \[bt\]

> Frightning that one man can change so much for United. A Messi could. Neymar, Sancho. But never imagined a Bruno could mean so much. Everything seems so easy for him.
