# Manchester United plan shock bid?

![Gareth Bale](https://cdn.footballtransfertavern.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/Gareth-Bale.png)We at the Football Transfer Tavern are keen to see Tottenham ace Gareth Bale stay in the Premier League but we didn’t expect Manchester United to line up a bid for him as the [Daily Star](https://www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/323124/EXCLUSIVE-Moyes-moves-in-for-Bale/) are reporting.

Bale has openly stated that he would love to play for Real Madrid one day and the Spanish side are set to make a summer move for the Welsh wizard.

However United’s attempts to bring old boy Cristiano Ronaldo back to Old Trafford seems to be a no go and so they hope to steal Bale from under the noses of Madrid.

Bale would prefer a move to the Spanish capital but Spurs are also keen on the winger to stay at White Hart Lane for one more season and sign a new contract in order to enhance his value further.

David Moyes had hoped to pull off a £60 million move for Ronaldo but it seems an £80 million move for Bale is the next best option.
