# Manchester United: Red Devils make contact for Eduardo Camavinga

**[Manchester United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/manchester-united-transfer-rumours/) are reportedly interested in acquiring the services of highly-rated Real Madrid youngster [Eduardo Camavinga](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tag/eduardo-camavinga/) this summer.**

### The Lowdown: Camavinga a big prospect

At just 20, the Frenchman has already become an important figure for Madrid, making a total of [80 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/eduardo-camavinga/alletore/spieler/640428) for the [La Liga](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/la-liga-news/) holders and [winning](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/eduardo-camavinga/erfolge/spieler/640428) the Champions League last season, breaking Liverpool hearts in the final.

Camavinga is seen as part of the long-term future at the Santiago Bernabeu, along with the likes of Aurelien Tchouameni and Federico Valverde, and his current deal [expires](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/eduardo-camavinga/profil/spieler/640428) in 2027.

Despite this, it looks as though United could be preparing to make an audacious move for the young midfielder.

### The Latest: United make contact

According to [*Football Insider*](https://www.footballinsider247.com/pete-orourke-column-man-united-swoop-for-real-madrid-untouchable-tottenham-told-thomas-tuchel-terms-celtic-deal-agreed/), the Red Devils have ‘registered an interest’ in signing Camavinga this summer, as [Erik ten Hag](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tag/erik-ten-hag/) looks to boost his midfield options.

Frenkie de Jong is also mentioned in the report and could be a safer bet, but United certainly seem interested in the Frenchman, given this is not the first time these [rumours](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/manchester-united-news/manchester-united-eduardo-camavinga-transfer-news/) have surfaced.

### The Verdict: Would Madrid sell?

Camavinga is a huge talent, having been [hailed](https://tribuna.com/en/news/realmadrid-2022-12-30-ancelotti-praises-camavinga-after-youngsters-impactful-performance-off-the-bench-v-vallad/) as ‘incredibly energetic’ by Carlo Ancelotti and ‘[sensational](https://twitter.com/terryflewers/status/1604526289041620992)‘ by journalist and podcaster Terry Flewers, going from strength to strength with Madrid since bursting onto the scene initially with Rennes.

The [six-time capped](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/eduardo-camavinga/profil/spieler/640428) France international already plays with a maturity beyond his years, enjoying an eye-catching [91.6%](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/369109/Show/Eduardo-Camavinga) pass completion rate across 25 appearances in La Liga this season.

Camavinga’s versatility means he has also played at left-back six times in 2022/23 to date and he is generally a footballer with huge intelligence and a massive future ahead of them.

It would be a big surprise if Madrid were willing to sell him, but if United managed to snap him up, it could be a significant piece of transfer business.
