# Manchester United: Joao Felix is ‘readily available’

**Rumoured [Manchester United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/manchester-united-news/) transfer target [Joao Felix](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tag/joao-felix/) is ‘readily available’ to be signed this month, according to an update from [transfer expert Dean Jones](https://twitter.com/DeanJonesSoccer).**

### The Lowdown: United keen on Felix

The Portuguese has been [linked](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/manchester-united-news/manchester-united-joao-felix-transfer-update/) with a move to Old Trafford numerous times in the past month or so, as Erik ten Hag eyes up attacking signings.

Felix is struggling at Atletico Madrid currently and has [not been a regular](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/joao-felix/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/462250/plus/0?saison=2022&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=) this season, and a loan move elsewhere this month has been in the offing.

It is a rumour that is refusing to go away, with United one of a number of clubs seemingly in the mix to snap him up.

### The Latest: Attacker is ‘readily available’

Speaking to [*Give Me Sport*](https://www.givemesport.com/88101392-man-utd-manchester-united-erik-ten-hag-joao-felix-transfer-rumour-atletico-madrid-old-trafford-move), Jones said that Felix is available to be signed in January, although didn’t specify if anyone was the favourite to snap him up:

> “He’s readily available for anyone willing to pay the money that it takes to sign him. I don’t think that anybody is going to get Felix with a special option that they get to sign him ahead of anybody else. I think that will be some of the criteria now that is set out.”

### The Verdict: Worth the money

While Felix’s stock has arguably fallen since he [won](https://www.footballtransfers.com/en/statistics/players/golden-boy-award-winners) the prestigious European Golden Boy award in 2019, he remains a top-class player with a massive future ahead of him.

United would be silly not to least consider a loan move for the 23-year-old until the end of the season, with the attacker a match-winner on his day who has been [hailed](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/morata-joao-felix-is-special-and-i-love-playing-with-him-at-atletico-madrid/bltd18317dc2e653348) as ‘special’ by Alvaro Morata.

Admittedly, Felix isn’t the [central striker](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/joao-felix/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/462250/plus/0?saison=2022&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=) that United crave currently – they could sign that type of player as well – but when a player of his calibre is available, you should take a punt on him.
