# Manchester United: Red Devils ‘main suitors’ for Joao Felix after Ronaldo exit

**[Manchester United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/manchester-united-news/) are reportedly among the ‘main suitors’ to seal the signing of Atletico Madrid and Portugal superstar Joao Felix.**

### The Lowdown: Constant United rumours

Erik ten Hag is sure to be considering a number of signings in the coming transfer windows as he looks to continue his promising start to life at Old Trafford, and a marquee attacking signing is surely a must after the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo.

One player who has been [linked](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/manchester-united-news/manchester-united-premier-league-joao-felix-atletico-madrid-transfers-news-updates/) with a move to United more than most recently is Felix, who looks increasingly likely to leave Atletico either in January or next summer.

The rumour simply isn’t going away, with a fresh claim now emerging from the Spanish press.

### The Latest: Red Devils among ‘main suitors’

According to [*AS*](https://as.com/) \[via [*Sport Witness*](https://sportwitness.co.uk/arsenal-alongside-manchester-united-pursuit-star-player-free-path-leave-club/)\], Felix has a ‘free path’ to leave Atletico and his agent Jorge Mendes ‘will present offers of around €100m (£86m)’.

United are among the ‘main suitors’ to snap up the 23-year-old and they have shown ‘more interest’ since the huge development of Ronaldo’s departure.

### The Verdict: Feels increasingly likely

This is a transfer that really does feel like it has legs to it and it would have the potential to be a hugely exciting capture by United, given Felix’s potential.

The attacker is a prodigiously gifted footballer who has already scored [53 goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/joao-felix/alletore/spieler/462250) at club level, and while some may argue that he hasn’t kicked on enough recently, he has been playing in an Atletico team hellbent on adopting a defensive approach.

Under someone more attacking like Ten Hag, Felix could absolutely flourish, showing precisely why Alvaro Morata has [called](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/morata-joao-felix-is-special-and-i-love-playing-with-him-at-atletico-madrid/bltd18317dc2e653348) him a ‘special’ player and providing much-needed guile and end product in the final third at Old Trafford.
