# Manchester United: Red Devils fans purr over Odion Ighalo’s latest display

**Odion Ighalo’s double against Derby County in the FA Cup fifth round has many Manchester United fans purring.**

The 30-year-old scored two goals to seal United’s spot in the quarter-final against Norwich City at Carrow Road later this month ([BBC](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51726490)). Quite a few eyebrows were raised when [Ighalo moved to Old Trafford on a surprising loan during the January transfer window](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51726490), but Solskjaer’s faith in the Nigerian striker certainly seems to be paying off so far.

Stepping in to fill the goal-scoring boots of injured academy ace Marcus Rashford, the Shanghai Shenhua loan signing has made 6 appearances for the Red Devils, scoring 3 goals in all competitions ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/odion-ighalo/profil/spieler/62121)). Despite a solid Premier League record including 40 goals in 100 games for Watford, Ighalo’s current market value rests at just £5.85m ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/odion-ighalo/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/62121)).

Most supporters will be hoping Ighalo can keep his goal-scoring form up for the rest of the season as United find themselves in the hunt for Champions League football, Europa League and FA Cup glory.
