# Manchester United: Red Devils fans react to Diogo Dalot’s birthday message

**Several Manchester United fans have reacted to a post from [the club’s official Twitter account](https://twitter.com/ManUtd/status/1240176376864440320) wishing Diogo Dalot a happy birthday.**

The Portuguese right-back has scored 1 goal and provided 3 assists in 33 appearances for the Red Devils. Dalot moved to Old Trafford from FC Porto for a reported fee of £19.8m back in 2018 after winning Liga NOS with the Blue and Whites ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/diogo-dalot/profil/spieler/357147)).

After the arrival of England international Aaron Wan-Bissaka last summer, he has struggled to nail down a place in the starting line-up, and has only featured in 4 games in the Premier League under club legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this season ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/diogo-dalot/profil/spieler/357147)).

Dalot’s current contract is set to expire in June 2023 and his market value is priced at £18m via [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/diogo-dalot/profil/spieler/357147). The 21-year-old has also won [6](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/diogo-dalot/nationalmannschaft/spieler/357147/verein_id/16374/plus/0?hauptwettbewerb=&wettbewerb_id=&trainer_id=&start=Sep+5%2C+2015&ende=Oct+16%2C+2018&nurEinsatz=0) caps for Portugal at U21 level.

Naturally the club’s tweet prompted loads of mixed reactions from the United faithful, with one comment suggesting the youngster is a “Portuguese shard of glass.” Other supporters urged patience with another adding “people don’t understand how good he can be.”
