# Manchester United: Red Devils fans ridicule Andrea Belotti transfer update

**Loads of Manchester United supporters responded to the news that Ed Woodward has been offered the chance to sign Andrea Belotti in the summer, per a report by [CalcioMercato](https://www.calciomercato.it/news/368809/calciomercato_napoli_dall_everton_al_manchester_united_le_ultime_su_belotti) via the [Daily Express](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1268869/Manchester-United-transfer-news-Ed-Woodward-Torino-Andrea-Belotti-offered).**

Belotti has been linked with the Red Devils multiple times over the years, most recently [back in 2017](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1268869/Manchester-United-transfer-news-Ed-Woodward-Torino-Andrea-Belotti-offered) after the board missed out on signing Antoine Griezmann, who stayed at Atletico Madrid instead.

After arriving at Torino FC from US Palermo for [£7.56m](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/andrea-belotti/profil/spieler/167727) in 2015, the 26-year-old has scored 9 goals in 23 appearances in Serie A for the Maroons this season, taking 2.7 shots per game, averaging 1.1 key passes, and completing 1.5 dribbles on average in the Italian top flight. His market value is priced at £28.8m via [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/andrea-belotti/profil/spieler/167727).

United can already call upon a number of attacking options, including Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood, whilst [Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made it clear](https://metro.co.uk/2020/03/13/ole-gunnar-solskjaer-drops-manchester-united-transfer-hint-odion-ighalo-12395514/) he wants to keep hold of loan signing Odion Ighalo.

The Nigerian was originally brought in to provide [injury cover](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51335993), but has more than earned his place in the side, [bagging 4 goals in only 8 matches](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/odion-ighalo/profil/spieler/62121) for the Norwegian’s team, registering 2.7 shots per game, averaging 2 key passes, and making 1.7 dribbles on average in the Europa League ([WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/31376/Show/Odion-Ighalo)).

Whether or not Belotti stays at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino remains to be seen, although fans should be reassured that an agreement between the two clubs is rather unlikely, given Solskjaer’s [expensive shortlist of targets](https://metro.co.uk/2020/03/18/man-utd-targets-ole-gunnar-solskjaer-transfer-signing-manchester-united-12416563/) in the upcoming window.

Many Red Devils mocked the latest transfer update, with several branding the striker as a “[flop](https://twitter.com/PathT0Glory/status/1250443479018139658?s=20)” and “one season wonder.” Another remarked “Ighalo is better.”

Take a look at the disgusted reactions down below…
