# Manchester United: Red Devils fans slam James Maddison following latest transfer update

**Many Manchester United fans have reacted to the news that the board are leaning towards a move for Jack Grealish over James Maddison, according to a report by [The Athletic](https://theathletic.co.uk/1739667/?source=player).**

With the transfer window just around the corner, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have been associated with a number of high-profile players, and both Englishmen are reportedly at [the top of the target list](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1268327/Manchester-United-transfer-news-Jack-Grealish-Aston-Villa-James-Maddison-Leicester).

After arriving at the King Power Stadium from Norwich City for [£22.5m](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/james-maddison/profil/spieler/294057) in 2018, Maddison has scored 6 goals and provided 3 assists in the Premier League under Brendan Rodgers this season, and the attacking midfielder has been linked with a move to Old Trafford before the start of next season. His current market value is priced at £43.2m via [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/james-maddison/profil/spieler/294057).

In comparison, despite being a part of Dean Smith’s struggling Aston Villa, his fellow countryman Grealish has still netted 7 goals and produced 6 assists in the English top flight this campaign, taking 2.1 shots per game, averaging 2.7 key passes, and completing 2.2 dribbles on average so far ([WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/113069/Show/Jack-Grealish)).

Unsurprisingly, loads of Red Devils took to Twitter to slam the “overrated” Leicester City star, with one supporter even calling him a “fraud.” Another branded the claim that the Foxes [could demand more than £100m](https://theathletic.com/1739667/2020/04/13/manchester-united-mailbag-grealish-smalling-pogba-fernandes/) for the 23-year-old as a “stupid valuation.”

> Maddison has been bland since the end of last year. Grealish a much better option and more versatile also.

> Imagine 100 million for Madisson. Let’s be real he is not worth it. A few years ago you could have gotten Bale and Cr7 for that money
