# Manchester United: Fabrizio Romano shares latest on Aaron Wan-Bissaka

**[Manchester United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/manchester-united-news/) are still looking to offload out-of-favour right-back [Aaron Wan-Bissaka](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tag/aaron-wan-bissaka/), according to a new update from journalist Fabrizio Romano.**

### The Lowdown: Wan-Bissaka surplus to requirements

The 25-year-old came in as a big money signing ([£50m](https://www.skysports.com/app/transfer/news/11667/11745323/man-utd-agree-50m-aaron-wan-bissaka-fee-with-crystal-palace#:~:text=Man%20Utd%20and%20Crystal%20Palace,finalised%2C%20Sky%20Sports%20News%20understands.)) in 2019, with some tipping him to be a future England defender, but things haven’t panned out that way.

Over time, Wan-Bissaka has found himself almost increasingly frozen out at Old Trafford, so much so that he has only played [four minutes](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/331924/Show/Aaron-Wan-Bissaka) of [Premier League](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/) football this season.

Erik ten Hag clearly doesn’t see him as part of his future plans and either a January or summer exit looks highly likely.

### The Latest: Club working on exit

Taking to [Twitter](https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1604934045384712206?s=20&t=0Dt3RpLLrcii6ZgLKODAZQ), Romano reports that United are still working hard on getting a move sorted, with numerous other English clubs keen on signing Wan-Bissaka:

> “Manchester United are trying to find a solution for Wan-Bissaka in order to let him leave. Wolves, West Ham and Crystal Palace remain interested.”

### The Verdict: One that didn’t work out

Some players simply don’t rise to the challenge of playing for a club of United’s magnitude, or just aren’t at the required level, and that has been the case with Wan-Bissaka.

The Red Devils paid over the odds to get him, and while there may have been sporadic good performances thrown in – teammate Victor Lindelof has [called](https://oldtraffordfaithful.com/victor-lindelof-singles-out-wan-bissaka-williams-for-praise/) him ‘brilliant’ – his lack of technical ability has often stood out.

For the good of Wan-Bissaka’s career, it is vital that United sell him as soon as possible, allowing him to enjoy a new challenge, not to mention getting him off the Old Trafford wage bill.
