A move for Havertz would solve a lot of Solskjaer’s problems in attack. Havertz has burst on to the scene in spectacular fashion since becoming the [youngest player to have played in the Bundesliga for Leverkusen](https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/man-utd-transfer-news-havertz-20818242) back in 2016.

The 20-year-old scored a [mammoth 17 goals](https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/man-utd-transfer-news-havertz-20818242) in the German top-flight last season, the most scored by a teenager in the history of Bundesliga. Indeed, he finished runner up to Marco Reus in the race to be named German footballer of the year, despite his tender age.

From a statistical point-of-view, his output in attack this campaign outshines the majority of United players this season. He averages [2.4 key passes and 2.1 dribbles per game (per WhoScored)](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/326413/Show/Kai-Havertz), which would place him second and top of the respective categories for the [Old Trafford giants](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/32/Show/England-Manchester-United).

The youngster possesses such talent he has been described as a mix between [Michael Ballack and Mesut Ozil](https://bulinews.com/news/2732/voller-havertz-is-a-mix-of-mesut-ozil-and-michael-ballack), so would definitely improve the creativity in a Red Devils side struggling to score goals.

Havertz’s age and quality make him the ideal signing for the Old Trafford giants, who have shown with a [run of 12 games without scoring more than one goal](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/32/Fixtures/England-Manchester-United) that they could use the extra quality in attack.
