# Manchester United: Scott McTominay praise for Odion Ighalo and Bruno Fernandes have fans talking on Twitter

**According to quotes courtesy of [Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11667/11927053/odion-ighalo-and-bruno-fernandes-man-utd-first-impressions-very-good-says-scott-mctominay), Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay has lauded the January arrivals of Bruno Fernandes and Odion Ighalo – with the academy graduate claiming that first impressions are ‘[very good](https://www.abola.pt/nnh/2020-02-06/mctominay-sobre-bruno-fernandes-a-primeira-impressao-e-muito-boa/827969)‘.**

Fernandes, who signed for an initial [£47 million](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51292312) deal in January, has excited a lot of supporters with his arrival – especially when taking into account his noteworthy 63 goals and 52 assists in 137 outings for Sporting Lisbon in all competitions ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/bruno-fernandes/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/240306)). Ighalo, who arrived on loan from Shanghai Shenhua, also potentially poses a threat going forward – racking up 15 goals in 36 starts during his best season at Watford in 2015/16, as [per WhoScored.com](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/31376/History/Odion-Ighalo).

As well as these impressive numbers, midfielder McTominay has now claimed that they are both ‘[really, really good guys](https://www.abola.pt/nnh/2020-02-06/mctominay-sobre-bruno-fernandes-a-primeira-impressao-e-muito-boa/827969)‘ – with one supporter hinting that could be a shot at loanee forward Alexis Sanchez. The Chilean, currently on a [temporary spell](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2019/aug/27/internazionale-agree-deal-to-sign-alexis-sanchez-on-loan-from-manchester-united-football) at Inter Milan, ‘[stunk the place out](https://talksport.com/football/589458/alexis-sanchez-manchester-united-simon-jordan-wages/)‘ according to former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan on [TalkSport](https://talksport.com/football/589458/alexis-sanchez-manchester-united-simon-jordan-wages/) – with United fans potentially grateful that McTominay’s quotes have seemingly ruled out similar attitudes from their new acquisitions.
