# Manchester United set to make huge bid for forward

[![West Bromwich Albion v Manchester United - Barclays Premier League](https://cdn.footballtransfertavern.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/Louis-van-Gaal-1-500x346.jpg)](https://cdn.footballtransfertavern.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/Louis-van-Gaal-1.jpg?admin)Manchester United could be set to make a sensational move for young forward Anthony Martial according to [RMC Sport](https://rmcsport.bfmtv.com/football/mercato-une-offre-mirobolante-de-manchester-united-pour-martial-910882.html), and our punters in the Football Transfer Tavern are desperate to hear more.

The Monaco under-21 player would cost £36.3 million, and as one of our punters notes over a couple of pints, we would be shocked to see the club pay so much for a player who is seriously unproven on the biggest stage.

Our landlord points out that things are getting desperate for clubs now, and it is clear United need a forward, and with the deadline looming, quite what they could actually do remains to be seen, with their options looking like a thin list at the minute.

After missing out on a host of players, this would be a panic buy for Manchester United and manager Louis van Gaal, and it is not one the majority of our regulars are too impressed with.

**Manchester United fans. Is this the answer to your forward problems or would it be a seriously bad idea? Let us know your thoughts below!**\
