[![Martial 3](https://cdn.footballtransfertavern.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Martial-3-500x289.jpg)](https://cdn.footballtransfertavern.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Martial-3.jpg?admin)Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have been raving about new-signing Anthony Martial this season, after his explosive start to life in England, and he’s become a firm-favourite after the latest emerged regarding his move.

United paid a whopping £36m to bring the 19-year-old to Old Trafford on Deadline Day but Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev has [claimed the youngster turned down a more lucrative deal](https://metro.co.uk/2015/10/02/anthony-martial-rejected-bigger-offers-to-complete-dream-transfer-to-manchester-united-confirms-monaco-president-5417715/) to complete a ‘dream’ switch to Manchester.

[Speaking to Spanish publication](https://metro.co.uk/2015/10/02/anthony-martial-rejected-bigger-offers-to-complete-dream-transfer-to-manchester-united-confirms-monaco-president-5417715/)*[Marca](https://metro.co.uk/2015/10/02/anthony-martial-rejected-bigger-offers-to-complete-dream-transfer-to-manchester-united-confirms-monaco-president-5417715/),* Vasilyev revealed a better offer was on the table from an unnamed side.

> “There was another club that offered even more than United. I will not say how much, but the fixed price – without variables – it was even better.”
>
> “And also they offered us to have him for a further year in Monaco. But the boy wanted to go to Manchester, it was his dream.”
>
> “We let him go with the bonus of €30 million. Had it not been for so much money, he’d have stayed.”

Fans in the Tavern are speculating who the other interested party may have been, pointing out the fact that a larger fee than £36m must have been from a huge club.

They’re ecstatic with these comments though, as it furthers their belief that they have a real talent on their hands.
