# Manchester United: Supporters refuse to praise Ed Woodward despite Bruno Fernandes transfer developments

**According to a report from [Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol](https://www.skysports.com/transfer/news/12691/11920170/bruno-fernandes-manchester-united-increase-offer-for-midfielder-to-ward-off-barcelona), Manchester United vice-chairman Ed Woodward played a huge role in potentially bringing long-time target Bruno Fernandes to Old Trafford following the news they have [agreed a fee](https://twitter.com/ManUtd/status/1222563698633592833) – but supporters still refuse to credit the figure.**

Fernandes, who has been linked with a United transfer since last summer ([Nicolo Schira via Daily Express](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1153878/Manchester-United-Bruno-Fernandes-Sporting-Lisbon-transfer-news)), could be close to sealing a deal at long last – with news coming in that the Red Devils have bid an initial £46.56 million for the player which could rise to £67.76 million with add-ons ([Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/transfer/news/12691/11920170/bruno-fernandes-manchester-united-increase-offer-for-midfielder-to-ward-off-barcelona)). According to the [club statement](https://twitter.com/ManUtd/status/1222563698633592833), personal terms and a medical are the only hurdles left.

However, even if Woodward had a hand in bringing the Portuguese playmaker to the Premier League, Red Devils supporters are still hesitant in praising the figure given his [business](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2019/aug/09/manchester-united-needed-a-rebuild-this-summer-but-failed-to-act-once-again) in the past. The 25-year-old, who exceeds current creative force Paul Pogba in almost every aspect, including shots per game (3.5), dribbles (3.7) and key passes completed (1.8) [as per WhoScored.com](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/123761/Show/Bruno-Fernandes), is seen as a potential attacking outlet who could take United to another level going forward.

However, even despite his reportedly imminent signing, Woodward is still getting no love from supporters – find all of their best comments down below.

> Woodward is pathetic. He wastes weeks and still ends up paying the fee SP wanted. He is a joke and United fans must hound him out. Enough is enough.

> We lose out to top 4 by a point it’s on him. 1st January Bruno should have been ready for.
