# Manchester United: Red Devils make huge Victor Osimhen offer

**[Manchester United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/manchester-united-news/) have [reportedly](https://sportwitness.co.uk/man-united-already-come-forward-striker-red-devils-sacrifice-make-happy/) made a huge offer to sign Napoli forward Victor Osimhen.**

### The Lowdown: Osimhen profiled

Osimhen, labelled as [‘highly unpredictable’](https://soccernet.ng/2017/05/coach-hails-victor-osimhen.html) during his time at Wolfsburg, is 23 years of age and can play [anywhere](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/victor-osimhen/profil/spieler/401923) across the front three.

The Nigeria international is valued at a career-high £54m by [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/victor-osimhen/profil/spieler/401923) and has been on fire in front of goal this season, netting [17](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/victor-osimhen/leistungsdaten/spieler/401923) times and registering [six](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/victor-osimhen/leistungsdaten/spieler/401923) assists in [29](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/victor-osimhen/leistungsdaten/spieler/401923) games this season, attracting big interest from Arsenal.

The Gunners were thought to be the [frontrunners](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-10774161/Arsenal-number-one-contenders-sign-Napoli-striker-Victor-Osimhen.html) to sign the Napoli star this summer, but it looks as if Manchester United have now made their move for the striker.

### The Latest: Red Devils offer

According to [Area Napoli](https://www.areanapoli.it/rassegna-stampa/repubblica---rivoluzione-de-laurentiis-pronto-il-piano-cessioni-cinque-big-in-bilico_459127.html), relayed by [Sports Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/man-united-already-come-forward-striker-red-devils-sacrifice-make-happy/), United have already come forward with a €100m (£84.1m) offer.

Napoli appear to be holding out for a deal worth €110m, with Osimhen thought to be a boyhood Old Trafford supporter.

### The Verdict: First Ten Hag signing?

It could be an extremely busy summer under new manager Erik ten Hag, with multiple incomings and outgoings expected in Manchester.

One of the first to arrive under the Dutchman could well be Osimhen going off this report, which could be a smart decision with Edinson Cavani set to [depart](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2022/mar/03/edinson-cavani-set-for-manchester-united-exit-and-targets-la-liga-move#:~:text=Edinson%20Cavani%20is%20set%20to,another%20of%20Europe's%20major%20leagues.) when his contract expires.

Cristiano Ronaldo would be left as the only [senior](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/manchester-united/kader/verein/985) striker available to Ten Hag, so bringing in a marquee attacker appears to be a wise call, with Benfica’s [Darwin Nunez](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/manchester-united-news/manchester-united-transfers-darwin-nunez-news-gossip/) another forward to be linked with a move to Old Trafford.
