Manchester United: Fans react to emerging reports of lucrative Juan Mata offer

A number of Manchester United supporters have been reacting to the latest update on the potential future of Juan Mata, with the Spanish midfielder the subject of a lucrative offer from an unnamed Saudi Arabian club.
A World Cup winner in 2010, Mata has on the fringes of United’s first team squad recently after not featuring in their opening Premier League matches this season, being limited to just two appearances in the Carabao Cup, in which he has contributed two goals and an assist (via Sofascore).
The 32-year-old was also a peripheral presence last term, only managing to make 19 Premier League appearances, just eight of which were starts (as per Sofascore). United brought in Donny van de Beek from Ajax in the summer, which has now put Mata even further down the midfield pecking order.
The Spaniard is still contracted to Old Trafford until 2021, but it has now emerged that he has reportedly received a lucrative contract offer from an unnamed team in Saudi Arabia. The offer could be worth around £11.5m per year for Mata, as per football consultant Ian McGarry, via Daily Express.
Some Manchester United fans were keen to point out that, given his lack of first team involvement and the potential contract on offer, Mata has earned the right to be allowed to leave, while other supporters were insistent that the Spaniard should not be allowed to depart as he is needed for cover.

I think he is massively underappreciated with us, he needed a bigger role than a Squad player last couple of seasons, till this day he shows his class when he comes on the pitch

If he wants it.

Yes, past his best, no because, well it leaves us with a total of like 6 midfielders. Not a lot of rotation, plus he was player of the month last month, which says more about how shoddy United were

If he wants go then should be let go. A magic player and with correct system could still do a major job. Would be missed and I think a lot of current players should take inspiration from him.
