Manchester United have been linked with Gareth Bale in the past, and the latest news around his future could see them reignite their interest in the Welshman.
This has alerted Manchester United as well as fellow Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur, but Bale’s £600,000-a-week wages have previously proven to be a stumbling block and it will be interesting to see if he will accept a cut in his wages in order to leave the Bernabeu.
There is no doubting the quality of the 31 year-old as he has scored 166 goals and supplied 138 assists in 499 appearances across his career, per Transfermarkt. He has also won the Champions League four times, as well as 13 other trophies, and he could definitely add an injection of quality to the Red Devils’ squad.
That Real Madrid are accepting a cheaper price now to allow him to leave also makes a potential deal more enticing, especially since they reportedly wanted around €175m (£150.83m) for the winger in the past.
Bale would also be great for the younger attackers at the club like Mason Greenwood and Daniel James as he could be a role model for them given his vast experience.
A potential deal could be a very good one for the club if they struggle to get another winger into Old Trafford. Jadon Sancho has been linked with United but a deal for him isn’t close at the moment, so Bale could be an ideal alternative.
