Manchester United: Barcelona deny Ousmane Dembele talks

Manchester United’s hopes of securing the signature of Ousmane Dembele from Barcelona have been dealt a blow after the La Liga side denied any contact.
The Red Devils have made just one signing this summer with the arrival of Dutch midfielder Donny van de Beek from Ajax and pressure is on boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to bring in some new faces ahead of Monday evening’s deadline day.
Dembele, who has been frozen out at La Liga side Barcelona this season so far, has struggled over the last few seasons with injuries, but his impressions for Borussia Dortmund prior to his Nou Camp arrival continue to make him one of the most exciting players in European football.
Having seemingly missed out on the chance to sign Jadon Sancho this summer, Dembele was reported to be the next option for United but such reports have now been rubbished by Barca themselves, who denied any contact with the Premier League club.
Here we take a look at how some United fans responded to the tweet from Goal on the Dembele news…
At this point nothing surprises or disappoints United fans! I think that is the trick by ED. Expectations must be so low that if they a backup left back before the window closes, the United fans will be happy and over the moon.

We ain’t looking away we are celebrating. He’ll spend more time with Phil Jones at the treatment table than on the pitch

This is great news. He would end up hospital with a torn hamstring after one game. @ManUtd #GlazersOut #WoodwardOut
