Manchester United have been linked to winger David Brooks in this window, but the latest update seems to suggest that a possible transfer will not be happening.
Indeed, Manchester Evening News are reporting that fellow Premier League side Leicester City are keen on the Welshman and are ready to make an offer for him, meaning he is now more likely to join the Foxes.
Brooks has managed eight goals and five assists in 42 Premier League appearances, per Transfermarkt and he is only 23 so the fact he has already made 12 appearances for Wales and has graced the Premier League highlights that he does have potential.
But it feels like United need players who have already reached a world class level so that they can fight for the title and other silverware. It seems like the best option therefore to prioritise a signing like Sancho, who scored 20 goals last season, and let someone else sign Brooks.
Here is what fans said following the news:
David Brooks more likely to join Leicester City than Manchester United. Jadon Sancho remains the priority

Big W, but we need to sort out this Sancho deal. That €120m will look like an absolute bargain in a few years time. If Atletico Madrid are willing to spend 100m+ on Joao Felix, 100m+ on Sancho is a no brainer.

Best thing for him. He’d be a squad player at Man United. At Leicester he’d at least have the chance to be a starting player.

While i’m glad that this is the case, this lad ‘could’ become really special!
But we are Man United, we should be buying best in class, not potential!

Would have loved to have him. Going to be a very good player.

Good. We want Sancho, not a lesser version.
