Manchester United: Fans devastated as United believe they can sign Jadon Sancho for less than £80m

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants Ed Woodward to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund as soon as possible, reports say.
Solskjaer is keen to avoid a repeat of Harry Maguire’s protracted move from Leicester City, which resulted in the Red Devils spending a world-record fee for the England international defender.
According to ESPN, as per @utdreport, Man United remain in pole position to sign their top target this summer.
The board are convinced they can drive down Dortmund’s £80m valuation for the former Manchester City academy graduate due to a lack of rivals in the transfer window.
Who should Man United buy?
Jadon Sancho
Raul Jimenez
Woodward is set to submit a £50m bid for Sancho but Solskjaer and his backroom staff privately believe this is an unrealistic offer.
The 20-year-old has scored 20 goals and supplied 18 assists in all competitions up until now (via WhoScored). He has told Dortmund he wants to leave the Signal Iduna Park to return to England and play in the Premier League.
However, the transfer saga has shown no signs of ending anytime soon, and Woodward will likely have to go back to the drawing board as discussions are still ongoing over a possible fee. Indeed, it has previously been reported that the Germans will not accept anything less than £117m for the winger.
Naturally, many United fans slammed the “awful” Sancho update on social media, with one supporter branding the board “clueless,” and another urging the Old Trafford hierarchy to “sack Ed” instead.
