Manchester United are the front-runners to sign Jadon Sancho in the summer, according to ESPN via @utdreport

Sources have told ESPN that the Red Devils are in pole position to sign Sancho in the upcoming window and are also leading the race for Birmingham City's Jude Bellingham.

United and Chelsea had started planning for a long-term rebuild prior to the nationwide lockdown imposed due to the crisis in March.

While the Blues have made the first move by closing in on the signing of Timo Werner, the Reds are close behind their Premier League rivals as plans have quickly changed.

Mark Ogden claims Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer has money to spend this summer and the board are expected to take advantage of a volatile transfer market where player values are expected to drop as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak.

Sancho's performances in Germany have attracted the attention of multiple suitors and he has long been linked with a move to Old Trafford.

After arriving at the Signal Iduna Park from Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City for £8m in 2017, Sancho has dazzled in the Bundesliga, scoring 17 goals and creating 16 assists in 28 games this season (WhoScored).

Furthermore, the winger scored the first hat-trick of his professional career in the 6-1 thrashing of bottom side Paderborn last weekend.

Unsurprisingly, many United fans gushed over the "interesting" transfer update on social media, with several dubbing the news "brilliant" and "fantastic."
