Manchester United: Fans react as club are very interested in David Brooks - Manchester United Transfer Rumours

As always, Manchester United will be expected to do some good business in the transfer window as they look to build a squad that can battle for silverware next season.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was close last season as the club reached three semi-finals, but if they do want to be lifting silverware then the fact they were knocked out at this stage emphasises the need for more depth in the squad.

The latest link sees them interested in AFC Bournemouth’s David Brooks, and the reports say that the interest is more serious than it was believed. The news from Sport Witness, which was tweeted out by utdreport, has received a very mixed reaction from a lot of the United fan base.

It is easy to see why, as the fact that they are being linked to a winger that is not Jadon Sancho emphasises that the club feel like they might not be able to sign the Englishman.

Meanwhile Brooks, who the Cherries signed from Sheffield United, has managed eight goals and five assists in 42 Premier League appearances, per Transfermarkt, which shows the quality and potential is there but he is certainly not in the same league as Sancho who bagged 20 goals last season alone.

It is though worth remembering that Brooks suffered a very bad injury which kept him out for 324 days and 33 games of football, per Transfermarkt.

He is only 23 and the fact he has already made 12 appearances for Wales and has graced the Premier League highlights that he does have potential, but it feels like United need players who have already reached a world class level, so that they can fight for the title and win silverware.
