Manchester United: Fans react to Red Devils links to Premier League goal machine - Manchester United Transfer Rumours

Lots of Manchester United fans have reacted to a report that the Red Devils are considering a move for Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang, according to SportingLife

The 30-year-old’s contract is set to expire at the end of next season, and former Arsenal star Charlie Nicholas believes Mikel Arteta should cash in on the prolific striker in the summer.

“If Arsenal were to get £100m for him to sign for Man Utd, I would take that. It will make them better, that is why they would pay big. Arsenal were the challengers to United for the title, but now neither of them are. Man Utd offer £100m for Aubameyang, sell him.”

United, Real Madrid and Barcelona are all eyeing up the Gabon international, via The Express.

Since arriving at the Emirates Stadium from Borussia Dortmund for £57.38m in January 2018, Aubameyang has bagged 61 goals in under 100 appearances for the Gunners. The goal machine has scored 17 goals in just 26 games in the Premier League this season, taking 2.5 shots per game, making 0.8 key passes, and completing roughly 0.5 dribbles via WhoScored. His current market value is rated at £50.4m per Transfermarkt.

In contrast, academy product Marcus Rashford has featured in 22 matches for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, netting 14 goals on average, registering 3.4 shots per game, providing 1.1 key passes, and averaging at least 2 dribbles per game in the English top flight (WhoScored).

All things considered, while there is no doubt Aubameyang presents a tantalising attacking option, given his age, he is obviously not a long-term solution, and it remains to be seen if Ed Woodward will trump up the hefty price tag in the upcoming transfer window.

Popular page ManUnitedZone shared the news on Twitter, prompting loads of replies from the fan base. One concerned supporter remarked “another Alexis Sanchez flop incoming,” whereas another added “he would be fantastic.”

Take a look at the mixed reactions down below…
