A number of Manchester United fans have offered their feelings over the prospect of securing a loan move for Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele.
Man United have opened talks with Barcelona over a potential loan move for Dembele, with the Red Devils contemplating signing the Frenchman on a temporary basis with the option to buy, according to respected journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Romano then provided a further update in a Tweet claiming that United are working to convince the 23-year-old to make a move to Old Trafford, after he rejected both Liverpool and Juventus earlier in the window.
Would Ousmane Dembele be a good signing for Man United?
The France international has endured a torrid time over the last year or so suffering consistent issues with injuries that have impacted his form on the field and his ability to force his way into Barcelona’s starting line-up. Those issues saw the 23-year-old make just nine appearances across all competitions for the Spanish giants last campaign, as per Transfermarkt.
Dembele looks like a player who needs to move away from Barcelona to get regular game time elsewhereas he looks to revive his stalling career, especially considering he should be aiming to make the French squad for the Euros next summer. The forward has suffered criticism for his performances with the Spanish giants and a new start could be what is needed to get him back to his best.
Some United fans were left surprised that the Red Devils are potentially having to convince the 23-year-old to make the switch to Old Trafford. While the mood amongst a selection of supporters is also not being helped by them being eager to see the club move for Jadon Sancho instead.
Some supporters, though, were keen to point out that if Dembele did arrive and could stay injury free, then he could be a much-needed extra attacking option in their squad.
Dembele seems injury prone… But, a big but, if he can stays fit, he is a talent. But I am still opting for Sancho and finance part of his fee from the sell of the fringe players. If the MUFC board are determined it ain't a challenge to find a way to make the Sancho deal.

I absolutely have no problem with Dembele as long as he does not grace the treatment table constantly. I rate him and Sancho equally ability-wise. It's also a less risky deal as long as it's a loan + option to buy€

United fans acting like he isn’t our best right winger instantly, injury free he could revive his career after Barcelona failures, Tons of potential with this, if we can’t get Sancho then we should be welcoming this with open arms.

Really don't know what to make of this honestly. A fit an ready Dembele is as good as any winger in the world but he's actually never fit

Pushing for someone that's saying no.
Hope it turns up well. Especially with his injury record. But he's a decent player and will cost about half or less of what Dortmund are demanding for Sancho.
A loan with option to buy is not bad, then decide base on performance

I hope it doesn't happen. Sancho is the signing we need. Dembele is injury prone and overrated!
