# Manchester United: Red Devils make Richarlison contact

**[Manchester United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/manchester-united-news/) have reportedly made contact with Everton forward Richarlison ahead of a possible summer swoop.**

### The Lowdown: Richarlison in England

Richarlison, labelled as a [‘match-winner’](https://www.goodisonnews.com/2021/10/01/kevin-campbell-reacts-as-everton-star-richarlison-seen-making-comeback-strides-at-finch-farm/) by Kevin Campbell, has been plying his trade in England since 2017.

He impressed with Watford in his first year in the top flight which resulted in Everton spending over [£35m](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/richarlison/transfers/spieler/378710) on his services. Since then, the Brazilian has made more than [150](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/richarlison/leistungsdaten/spieler/378710) appearances for the Toffees, scoring [52](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/richarlison/leistungsdaten/spieler/378710) times, including [10](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/richarlison/leistungsdaten/spieler/378710) this season.

He’s played a key role in Everton’s attempts to avoid the drop, and it looks as if a move to work with Erik ten hag at Old Trafford could be on the cards.

### The Latest: United contact

[Sports Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/three-clubs-race-everton-star-toffees-still-set-price-exit/) shared an update from [Goal](https://www.goal.com/br/not%C3%ADcias/united-psg-e-bayern-sondam-richarlison-real-madrid-desiste/blt7d0eda6b9f54ca3b) regarding Richarlison on Tuesday. They claim that United, along with Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain, have made contact to learn conditions over a move and are all in the running for his services.

The report adds that Everton are yet to name a price for their star attacker, however, United are willing to ‘invest’ in the 25-year-old.

### The Verdict: Shrewd?

Richarlison has played as a [centre forward and as a left-winger](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/richarlison/leistungsdaten/spieler/378710) this season, two areas of the pitch where Ten Hag may be looking to strengthen this summer.

He could have limited options in both positions, should [Edinson Cavani](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2022/mar/03/edinson-cavani-set-for-manchester-united-exit-and-targets-la-liga-move#:~:text=Edinson%20Cavani%20is%20set%20to,another%20of%20Europe's%20major%20leagues.) and [Marcus Rashford](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1606265/Manchester-United-transfer-news-Marcus-Rashford-Barcelona) depart, as has been rumoured, so Richarlison could be a smart signing based on his versatility and experience in the Premier League.

You’d expect that his asking price would fall if Everton dropped down to the Championship, but if they remain in the top flight, then perhaps United would have to pay over his £45m [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/richarlison/profil/spieler/378710) valuation as he enters the final [two years](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/richarlison/profil/spieler/378710) of his Goodison Park deal.
