# Mancini Target Dzeko’s Price “No Secret”

[![Edin Dzeko](https://cdn.footballtransfertavern.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/edin-dzeko-150x150.jpg)](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/2010/12/premiership/manchester-city/mancini-target-dzekos-price-no-secret/attachment/edin-dzeko-2/)Real Madrid and Manchester City target Edin Dzeko looks set to be available for transfer in January as Wolfsberg’s sporting director, Dieter Hoeness, reveals the price tag on his head.

***“The price is not a secret – Dzeko is €40m (£33.7m),”*** Hoeness told *AS*.

***“There are many teams interested in Dzeko.”***

There have been reports linking a £20.9million bid to Real Madrid for the forward, but Hoeness said that there had been no contact between the two clubs concerning a transfer.

***“We have not received any call from Madrid. I myself met (Real president) Florentino Perez and \[director general\] Jorge Valdano when I went to the Bernabeu to see Real Madrid-AC Milan and it was never mentioned.”***

***“We do not comment on speculation,”*** he added.

The highly rated striker has been linked with a host of clubs, including Roberto Mancini’s Manchester City, one of the few clubs in the world that could match Wolfsburg”s asking price. With out-of-favour striker Adebayor almost certainly out the door in January, Dzeko could be too enticing a prospect to miss.

Typically though, the Bosnian hitman insisted he was concentrating on life in the Brundesliga, he told German newspaper *Bild*:

***“There are many rumours, but it is too early to say what will happen. I’m focused on Wolfsburg.”***

His agent Irfan Redzepagic however was a little more direct in his approach and added fuel to the fire by insisting:

***“It would be foolish to say no to Madrid.”***

So the door is wide open for Dzeko. The man seems to have the world at his feet, now it’s just a case of who has the cash. Watch this space.
