The 27-year-old scored [five goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/marc-mcnulty/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/125850/plus/0?saison=2019&verein=289&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=) for the north-east outfit, but just [twice in the league](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/marc-mcnulty/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/125850/plus/0?saison=2019&verein=289&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=) as he [fell out of Phil Parkinson’s plans](https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/marc-mcnulty-leaves-sunderland-reunite-17670704), and was subsequently allowed to leave.

Fans have been reacting to the Hibs loanee finding the target and there has been a mixed response, with some saying it is typical that a former Sunderland player would prove himself away from the club while others have pointed out the low standard of the opposition he faced – BSC Glasgow.
