# Arsenal: Gunners eyeing shock Marcus Rashford move

**[Arsenal](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/arsenal-fc-news/) are reportedly ‘monitoring’ Marcus Rashford’s situation at Manchester United ahead of a potential shock move this summer.**

### The Lowdown: Contract uncertainty

Rashford is [reportedly](https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-arsenal-set-sights-on-marcus-rashford-amid-huge-arteta-reveal/) facing continued uncertainty over his contract at Old Trafford, despite United recently triggering a 12-month extension.

His deal expires in [2024](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/marcus-rashford/profil/spieler/258923), meaning that he will only have one year left come the summer.

### The Latest: Arsenal ‘monitoring’ situation

As per [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-arsenal-set-sights-on-marcus-rashford-amid-huge-arteta-reveal/), Arsenal are ‘monitoring’ Rashford’s situation ahead of a possible shock swoop this summer, with [Mikel Arteta](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tag/mikel-arteta/) already registering his interest to the England international’s camp in 2022.

The Spaniard is thought to be a ‘huge fan’ of Rashford, but United have ‘no intention’ of selling him this summer.

### The Verdict: Unlikely

The Gunners signing Rashford this summer seems highly unlikely at this stage, given the 25-year-old’s blistering form and the fact that the two clubs are only separated by [five](https://www.premierleague.com/tables) points in the Premier League table.

Hailed as a ‘[monster](https://twitter.com/StatmanDave/status/1623435510915137536?s=20&t=VTiOKUE2AWVRYvO56tTENA)‘ by football analyst Statman Dave, Rashford has scored an impressive 21 goals and made a further eight assists in total over all competitions so far this season ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/marcus-rashford/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/258923/plus/0?saison=2022&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=)), and seems to have been given a new lease of life under new manager Erik ten Hag.

As such, it would be a real shock to see the Manchester-born attacker make the switch to the Emirates Stadium, and so the North Londoners will likely have to move on to new targets.
