# Everton: Toffees eyeing Fabien Centonze

**[Everton](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/everton-fc-news/) are reportedly now eyeing up a move to sign FC Metz defender Fabien Centonze in the summer.**

### The Lowdown: ‘Major’ overhaul

It has been [reported](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/everton-fc-news/calvert-lewin-transfer-news-richarlison-premier-league/) that Farhad Moshiri is now plotting a ‘major’ overhaul of the squad in the summer, given their struggles this season.

While both Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison have been heavily [linked](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/everton-fc-news/everton-paul-brown-makes-worrying-exit-claim/) with a move away from Goodison Park, they have also been linked with moves for [Adama Traore](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/everton-fc-news/wolves-transfer-news-adama-traore-premier-league/) and [Michy Batshuayi](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/everton-fc-news/leeds-transfer-news-batshuayi-chelsea-premier-league/).

### The Latest: Centonze eyed

As per [The Daily Telegraph](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2022/04/21/transfer-notebook-leicester-race-torinos-40m-rated-brazilian/), Centonze is now on the list of potential targets in the summer for the Merseyside club.

However, they may face competition from Crystal Palace for the right-back, who could be a replacement for Jonjoe Kenny, as his contract runs out in the [summer](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jonjoe-kenny/profil/spieler/258883).

### The Verdict: Potential bargain

Centonze could be available on the cheap if Metz get relegated from Ligue 1, as they currently sit at the [bottom](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/french-ligue-one/table) of the division. Thus, the 26-year-old could be sold for a potential bargain, given his age and individual exploits this season.

Journalist Zach Lowy described him as ‘[dazzling](https://twitter.com/ZachLowy/status/1486396336572350469)‘ earlier this year, as the defender has managed an impressive four goals and one assist in total in Ligue 1 so far this term ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fabien-centonze/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/384859/plus/0?saison=2021&verein=347&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=)).

Interestingly, he also shares the same [agent](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/icm-stellar-sports/beraterfirma/berater/190) as Jordan Pickford, and so the England international goalkeeper could play a part in luring Centonze to the Toffees.
