# Middlesbrough fans take to Twitter to demand Tony Pulis’ exit

**As you can imagine, it didn’t take long for Tony Pulis to come under fire from the Middlesbrough fans after full-time yesterday. For what it’s worth, the Riversiders put in a decent away display to beat Rotherham at the New York Stadium, but Derby’s home win over West Brom saw them claim 6th, and now Pulis out is going strong.**

> Victory on the day, but not enough to keep [#Boro](https://twitter.com/hashtag/Boro?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw)'s season alive as results elsewhere end our Play-Off dream [pic.twitter.com/BqzOyqrghN](https://t.co/BqzOyqrghN)

It wouldn’t have been half as bad to have missed out on a spot in the top six had they not spent the vast majority of the season looking over their shoulders from the safety of the playoff places. However, it was all down to some self-destruction by Pulis and six straight defeats in the Championship that saw this happen, and it’s hard to imagine a way that the ex-Stoke, Palace and WBA man keeps his job.

Had the Northeast club made it into the playoffs then there would be some much-needed justification for Pulis keeping his job despite his turgid football. Unfortunately, now they have nothing to show for their slow, set-piece oriented football there is no reason why Pulis should be kept at the club and the planning for next season should start now, starting with a new fresh-faced manager.

You can read the Boro fans’ calls for Pulis’ head here:

The Boro fans are right to be frustrated by Pulis and his anti-football and will be partying on Teesside when his departure is confirmed.
